Who we are

Edington & Partners is a partnership of highly trained anaesthesiologists who pride themselves on providing outstanding care to patients. The Practice was established in 1991 and operates in many hospitals in Durban and the greater Durban area.

In addition to their qualification as medical doctors, all partners have undergone a minimum of 4 years of additional training and examinations, completed Fellowships of Anaesthesia with the College of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA) and are registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as specialist anaesthesiologists. Some of the partners have completed an additional Certificate of Critical Care from the CMSA.

As a result, we are highly capable of providing advanced care in anaesthesiology as well as intensive care. Along with our carefully vetted affiliated surgeons - we provide skilled surgical and peri-operative medical coverage to our patients.

Edington & Partners provide anaesthesia for a wide range of surgeries, including Bariatric, ENT, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Interventional Radiology (and acute stroke therapy), Maxillo-facial and Dental, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedic, Paediatrics, Plastic surgery, Urology and Vascular surgery. We perform day-case and inpatient anaesthesia as well as providing an extensive ICU service to our patients in six of the ICU’s in the Durban area.
